One finding, the way it lands in the Report.
The Report has seven parts. This is the shape of one finding from the leak matrix, with invented inputs so you can see how a number gets built and where it stops. In a real Report every input is yours and every line says where it came from.
After-hours calls go to voicemail and are not returned until morning.
What I found: say the call log for one week shows 22 inbound calls after 5pm, 9 of them never answered, 6 of those never called back. Two of the six left a voicemail; four did not.
The arithmetic, shown
| Unreturned after-hours calls a week | 6 (from the log, one week, say a typical one) |
|---|---|
| Treated as jobs you would have won | one in four, deliberately low, so 1.5 a week |
| Average job value, your figure | say $420 |
| Revenue not won, a year | 1.5 × 52 × $420 = $32,760 |
| Cost of doing those jobs, your margin | say 55% gross margin, so $18,018 gross profit |
| Cost of the fix, a year | say $4,500 build once, plus say $400 a month running = $9,300 in year one |
| Net annual profit opportunity, year one | $18,018 minus $9,300 = $8,718; year two onward, $13,218 |
What is still unknown
- Whether the week logged was typical. The Report asks for four weeks; this sample used one.
- Whether the four callers who left no voicemail were customers or sales calls. The Report checks the numbers against your customer list.
- Whether you had the capacity to take 1.5 more jobs a week. If the vans were full, the number is smaller and the finding changes to a pricing one.
The recommendation, in order of cost
- Free: forward the line to the on-call phone after 5pm and change the voicemail greeting to name a callback time. Re-count after two weeks.
- Cheap: a human answering service for the after-hours window; compare its monthly against the year-one number above.
- A build, only if the two-week count holds: the AI receptionist, quoted fixed-price, with the monthly stated.
Every figure above is an example marked with “say”. A real finding uses your log, your margin and your prices, and counts toward the guarantee only when the net line is positive. Time freed, cash saved and revenue added are kept on separate lines so nothing is counted twice.
